Tidyroom is a free iPhone app that frees up storage: duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, blurry shots, big videos, Live Photos and duplicate contacts. It runs entirely on the phone, needs no account and is paid for by a few ads. An optional subscription removes them and locks nothing else. Made by tawadi, the one-person app studio of Wladislaw Mitzel in Brachttal, Germany.

Why it exists

Most iPhone cleaners charge several euros a week after a short trial, and some send photos to a server to analyse them. Wladislaw Mitzel, an IT architect, wanted the opposite: a cleaner that is free, honest about how it makes money, and that keeps the library on the phone. Tidyroom was built in an AI-native workflow by one person and ships small and fast.
